Varsah Gungoa

Ms Varsah Gungoa joined SADCAS in March 2020 as an Assessor. She holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Microbiology with distinction, a diploma in Chemical Analysis and Instrumentation techniques and a Certificate in Project Management. She is responsible for the coordination of the Testing, Veterinary and Proficiency Testing Schemes. Prior to joining SADCAS Ms Gungoa had undertaken a number of assessments for SADCAS as a subcontracted assessor.
Besides being a scientist by profession in Environmental, Water Resources Management and Climate Change areas, she is bilingual and undertake accreditation assessment in both English and French for testing laboratories in various fields such as water & wastewater, agriculture, mining products, steel & alloys, toys, food and textile. She has worked at International level for various UNDP GEF Projects in different regions such as African Regional Hub, Istanbul Regional Hub and the Asia Pacific Regional Hub. She has also worked as Scientific Officer at the Central Water Authority in Mauritius.
